Happy New Years Eve

Happy New Years' Eve everyone. I hope 2013 brings blessings of health, wealth and love to you all. I must say that 2012 has been quite an interesting year. Not so great but not so bad either. I am so grateful to be able to see another year come and go. Watching my beautiful daughter grow has been such a blessing. I wanted to enter our new year with lots of bling on my nails so here we have it. My very first attempt at real nail art.

Can you tell that the design on my middle finger is a glass of champagne? I hope to improve my art skills in 2013 :)

I used a bunch of different polishes for this but I can't remember all the names. I know i used China Glaze Some Like It Haute, China Glaze Glistening Snow, China Glaze Angel Wings, LynB Designs Luxury Tax, an Icing polish and the gold glitter on my middle finger is a Julep.

Everyone has a blessed and safe night.

Tipsy Turvy Nails: Festivus

Hi guys! Today I have a polish that I should have shown you a long time ago but life somehow got in the way. Festivus by Tipsy Turvy Nails is a mix of blue hex and silver glitter in a clear base. It also has some silver holographic bar glitters in the mix. I believe it's part of their holiday collection. I used a coat over white and black so you can see how it looks over a light and dark base. The formula was good. The glitter payoff was pretty good as well.

You can find Tipsy Turvy Nails on etsy. You can also follow their blog, Can't Hold My Lacquer. You should check out their shop. Michelle and her sister have some great polish for sale,

Happy Holidays

Today is Christmas Eve and I have not posted even one Christmas mani...(hangs head in shame)
My head has just not been in the game lately. I have been suffering frequent headaches and migraines which has kind of put me into a mild depression with anxiety. I feel terrible that I have been so quiet on the blog front. It doesn't help that I took the shooting in Newtown here in Ct pretty badly. As a state and a nation I feel like we are all still grieving. With that being said, my resolution this new year will be to make a blogging comeback with a vengeance! I hope all of you have a wonderful holiday season and I will be back soon. I love you all.

Devastated & Heart-Broken

I was unable to come up with anything to say about the heart wrenching tragedy that occured here in Newtown, CT yesterday. Words cannot describe the anger, the hurt and the fear we all feel. We are all grieving at this time. Here is my white mani for peace & non-violence for the victims of Sandy Hook Elementary School.

My prayers go out to the families and friends of the victims of Newtown, CT & to those in Oregon as well.

Mmmm Nails: Red Hot Diva

Hi guys. I have not abandoned you guys. The holiday season is just a very busy and hectic one at work & home. Not to mention my latest health issues. For some reason I have been having migraines, no bueno. I promise I will post more after the holidays.
Today I have a polish from Mmmm Nails called Red Hot Diva. What a sexxy biotch she is too! I was amazed by how much I la la loved this polish. It's a red wine jelly with ruby red shimmer. Formula was great. I used 3 coats and top coat.

Mmmm Nails has an etsy shop and her polishes are very reasonably priced.

Glitzology: Island of Misfit Toys

Happy Saturday everyone! I know its a late posting but I was down for the count for a few days. For some reason I have been having migraine headaches. I'm feeling better now though. Anyone else watching the Miguel Cotto fight tonight on Showtime. He is so hot! and I'm not just saying that cuz he's boricua like me :)
I got some swatching done today. A major feat for me... WOOT WOOT!!! lol
One of the polishes I swatched today is from an Indie brand called Glitzology. I ordered this a few weeks ago and I just now have been able to try it out. I must say, I am quickly becoming an Indie addict. This polish is AMAZEBALLS!!!!!!! First of all, the name brings me  back to the holiday seasons of my childhood watching the cheap claymation cartoons like Island of Misfit Toys, Rudolph the Rednosed Reindeer, Santa Claus is Coming to Town and all the rest. Island of Misfit Toys is a glitter bomb chock full of colorful delight! It has silver, red, orange, yellow, blue and green square & hex glitter as well as a black microbar glitter all swimming in a silvery shimmer base that was easily opaque in just 2 coats. It was thick but easy to work with. Take a look!

I used 2 coats with 2 coats of topcoat. I really love this polish. I ordered 2 others with this one and I went back to Glitzology's shop and ordered four more polishes.
You can find her shop on etsy.

PR: Arms and Armory x Cirque Introduces "Alter Ego" Collaboration

Arms and Armory x Cirque
Arms and Armory x Cirque
Introduces “Alter Ego” Collaboration

New York, NY (November 2012) - Just in time for the Holidays, New York-based artisans, Arms and Armory and Cirque, team up to release a unique project called Alter Ego, a special edition ring and nail polish duo.  This set will be released December 3, 2012 and can be purchased through the Arms and Armory and Cirque websites.

With the advent of style blogs that feature everything from vintage finds to carefully selected “Arm Parties” and “What’s in My Bag” photos, its no surprise that fashion and beauty go hand-in-hand.  By fusing the latest trends in these industries, Arms and Armory and Cirque developed an idea that would bring back a 1990s cult trend.  Alter Ego is a collaboration that features an art deco-inspired ring, designed by Arms and Armory, and a cosmic black nail lacquer, handmade by Cirque.  The gunmetal-plated ring has an adjustable band that can fit a range of sizes and boasts a black enamel triangle in the center.  It is paired with an untraditional black polish that displays a bold prismatic flame when exposed to direct lighting.
This set retails for $42.00 and can be found at: Armsandarmory.com and www.cirquecolors.com.

About
Arms and Armory is a New York-based art collective specializing in hand crafted jewelry. Inspired by old mythology, science history and magic, Arms and Armory blends the ideas of the future with styles of the past to create beautiful works of wearable art.

Cirque is an artisanal line of hand-blended nail polish made in New York.  The name Cirque, meaning ring or circle, represents the color wheel and the endless color possibilities in the continuum.  Creator, Annie Pham, sought to develop colors that transcend those of conventional brands by experimenting with unique pigments and raw materials.  Cirque nail polish is 3-free, which means it does not contain toluene, formaldehyde and dibutyl phthalate.

City Color Masquerade

Today I have a beautiful light grey to show you from a drug store polish called City Color Masquerade collection. The name is just light grey. I can't believe how freakin awesome this nail polish is! The formula was top notch! No streaking, patchiness, pooling or any other polish gripe. If all their polish is like this then I'm a fan. This is 2 coats and top coat.

I think I bought this in RiteAid for $2.99

Happy Sunday

I am so sorry! I haven't even realized how fast the days are flying by and I haven't posted in way too long. It seems like with the holidays looming, there is just not enough time in the day to do everything we need to do. I've even had the same manicure on for 3 days O_o
I know, I know...I need to get it together. So did everyone in the Unites States have a Happy Thanksgiving? Mine was good, even though I ate entirely way too much.

Mmmm Nails Jellykisses

Happy Monday everyone! Can you believe I almost got up this morning and went to work for 6am forgetting I had the day off. Good thing I looked at my schedule. So instead of sleeping in, I'm up at 6:30 walking the dog. Sigh, what I would give to sleep until like 9am...Anyhow, today I have another Mmmm Nails polish called Jellykisses. It's a blue jelly based packed with small blue glitter and some medium sized blue hex glitter as well. I layered this City Color light gray which is a very very light gray with a hint of shimmer in it. It reminds me a little of OPI My Boyfriend Scales The Walls. The formula on Jellykisses was good. The glitter payoff was great...they usually are with jelly bases. This is 2 coats with a layer of top coat.

Mmmm Nails I Love Cake

I want to start off this post by asking you guys to pray for a family member of mine. On Monday night she lost her home and everything she owned to a fire. That has to be be one of the most devastating things to happen to anyone. Thankfully she made it out ok and her baby was not home at the time.

On to nail polish...today I have another Mmmm Nails polish to show you. It has got to be one of my most favorite glitter toppers ever. I Love Cake is a mixture of medium sized blue and yellow hex glitter, blue and yellow shard glitter, blue bar glitter and very small yellow glitter that almost passes as shimmer. I really like this one since it's not a glitter bomb you can layer it over whatever you want. I used 2 "coats" over LA Colors Lightening which is a very hot pink jelly. It photographed more orangey since my camera does not get along with neons. Do you like?

Looking at this mani makes me crave something sweet...like CAKE :)

Mmmm Nails Between The Buns

Hi everyone. I know it's late but I wanted to post today. I have a beautiful duochrome from Mmmm Nails. It's called Between The Buns. It's mainly a heavy golden shimmer with copper shift depending on the lighting. The formula on this one was a little too thick but a couple drops of nail polish thinner had this polish gliding onto my tips with ease. It was so hard to capture it's true beauty on camera. Here's what I got.

You can find Between The Buns in MmmmNails etsy shop for $6.99

LA Colors: Current

A Nor'easter...Really, Mother Nature?!!! I think we need a little break here on the east coast. We got 10 inches of snowyesterday & last night. Yuck! I hate the snow, yet I live in New England...go figure.
Today I have a lime green for you...not very fall like, I know. But I like it so here it is. LA Colors Current is from the Color Craze collection. Its a frosty metallic lime green. I usually don't get along with frosty finishes but this one kind of grew on me. It used 3 coats and top coat. The formula was good & I didn't have any issues with brushstrokes.

Please excuse the coloring of my hands and my dry cuticles. I had to adjust the photos to get them more color accurate.
